What Are Screw Piles?

Screw piles, also known as helical anchors, piers or helical piles, are widely used in new construction due to their design and ease of installation. Instead of requiring large excavation work, they thread into the ground. This minimizes installation time, requires little soil disturbance, and transfers the weight of the structure to load-bearing soil.

The Benefits of Screw Piles

Helical piles have higher load-bearing capacity, stability and sturdiness than traditional concrete foundations. Galvanized steel helical piles can be installed effectively in various soil types. They are resistant to corrosion, and have the capability to withstand the freezing and thawing cycles of the land, resulting in a long service life. They are displacement piles, so they produce no spoils, no time is lost waiting for concrete to cure before loading, and they are installed with minimal environmental impact.
